Listeners

Automation that watches for an event and lets your agent act the moment it happens.

Listeners run event-driven workflows as visual flowcharts — "when this happens, do that". Anyone who wants the workspace to react on its own, without someone clicking a button, reaches for it.

What you can do

  • Trigger a workflow from six event types: a webhook, a record change, a schedule, an incoming email, a manual run, or an API route.
  • Build the flow visually from nodes — actions, conditions, AI steps, transforms, delays, loops, notifications and outbound webhooks.
  • Describe the automation you want in plain English and let the AI design the flow for you.
  • Set a per-listener AI budget so runs pause automatically when the spend cap is reached.
  • Activate, pause, disable, duplicate, or trigger a listener manually.
  • Review every run's history — status, duration, tokens and cost — with a full execution log.

How to use it

An administrator switches Listeners on from Settings → Apps. Once enabled, it appears in your main navigation.

Create a listener, choose what should set it off — say, a new contact being created — then lay out what happens next. You can place nodes by hand or simply describe the outcome ("when a new lead arrives, send a welcome email and notify the team") and have the AI draft the flowchart. Activate it when you're happy, and use the run history to confirm it's firing as intended and staying within budget.

Working with your agent

You describe the trigger and the result; your agent assembles the flow and keeps it running, so the automation works while you don't.

You: "When an email comes in mentioning a refund, flag it and alert me"
Agent: Builds an email-triggered listener that tags the message and notifies you.

How it fits

Listeners react to activity across the workspace — changes to Contacts, messages in your Inbox, or any enabled app. They can launch an Agent Task or hand work to an Agent Team, and your agent can build, trigger and troubleshoot them for you.

Tip. Set a sensible AI budget on every active listener — it's your safety net against a runaway loop quietly racking up cost.
