Monetise your Apps
Earn revenue from the extensions you publish to the ecosystem. The model is simple and rides the same AI credit system tenants already use, so there is nothing new for your customers to set up.
You build with your own agent, so SOIS charges you nothing to build. You earn when tenants use your published app.
Two ways to earn
1. Usage share (the main one). Your app declares the operations it charges for. When a tenant uses your app, that tenant's AI credit balance is charged and you earn a share of every charge. The more your app is used, the more you earn. Metering is automatic.
2. Install fee (optional). You can set a one time fee, charged in AI credits when a tenant installs your app. Set it to zero to make installing free.
Both run on the AI credit rail. The consuming tenant pays from their own credit balance. You are never charged for your own app's usage.
The revenue split
| Party | Share |
|---|---|
| You (the developer) | 80% |
| Platform | 20% |
The split is configurable by the platform, with 80% to the developer as the default. Each charge is recorded against your account with your share calculated and banked for payout.
Setting your pricing
You declare pricing in your app's manifest, as a billing method per operation, plus an optional install fee. Your agent can set this up for you. Keep prices proportionate to the value of the operation. Free reads with a small charge on create is a common, fair pattern.
How a charge flows
- A tenant performs a billable operation in your app.
- The tenant's AI credit balance is charged the price you set.
- Your share is recorded against your developer account.
- If the tenant is out of credit, the operation is declined gracefully and the tenant is prompted to top up. Nothing is recorded.
Getting paid
Your earned share accumulates as a balance. You request a payout from your developer dashboard. The platform reviews and settles it. Your earnings dashboard shows your balance, recent transactions, and payout history.
Good practice
- Price for value, not for clicks. Tenants see "Installed Public Apps" usage on their bill, so fair pricing builds trust and repeat use.
- Make installing cheap or free, then earn from real usage.
- Free, well made apps still build your reputation and can carry an install fee or usage charge later.
Next steps
- Build with your agent: the build, validate and publish flow.
- Build an integration: connect your app to an existing SOIS app.
